Hi! My name is Shan Ogdemli and Designs by Shan is the brand name for my designs and products. I have been a working artist and designer my entire life, wearing many hats that include fine artist, licensed artist, illustrator, product designer, graphic designer, creative director and entrepreneur. I am very excited about my latest endeavor - this new Designs by Shan website - which is part product shop and part art and design portfolio.

You may have already noticed that I love color! My work has been described as psychedelic and trippy, op-art and pop art inspired, retro, modern, vintage, contemporary, stylish, fun and whimsical. I love creating art and seeing how it applies to just about anything - fabric wrapped around the human body, scarves, yoga mats, mugs, wall clocks, walls, buildings - anything, really!

My artistic influences include the work of Emilio Pucci, Peter Max, Victor Vasarely, Yaakov Agam, Vincent Van Gogh, Mark Rothko, pop art from the psychedelic 60’s and 70’s and more. I am inspired by the colors and patterns of the natural world, the markings on plants and animals, biology, geometry, physics and metaphysics.
